17th Junior Mathematics Olympiad – 2014: Master Sourabh Singh of 10 A secured 23rd rank in 17th Junior Mathematics Olympiad – 2014 and received Rs. 3000/- cash prize. Total 21,000 students appeared and 45 students qualified. From KVS (Hr) 3 students were qualified
Sports : KVS (HR) has won the overall championship trophy in Rope Skipping at KVS National Sports meet 2014-15 held at Noida from 5-10-2014 to 12-10-2014 and 9 players from this team were under 17 and 19 belong to KV No. 1, Uppal. They bagged 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals and cash prize of Rs. 17,500/- for entire team.
All India Mavlankar Rifle Shooting Competition: Cadet D. Akshara of 10 D secured gold medal in All India Mavlankar Rifle Shooting Competition held in the month of September 2014 at Asansol, West Bengal.
State Level Inter Group NCC Competition:
Cadet H. Deepthi of class 10 A bagged Gold Medal for Mural Making in the Flag area competition at State Level Inter Group NCC competitions held on 13-11/2014 at Bison Training Ground.
Sgt. V. Anoushka of XI A got 3 Gold Medals in 3 different events, i.e, Best Cadet category, Best Briefing for Flag Area category, Most Valuable NCC cadet Category at State Level Inter Group NCC Competition. Also, she got selected for Republic Day Camp to be held in the month of January 2015 at New Delhi.
All India THAL Sainik camp: Sgt. R. Vaishnavi of 10 C participated in the prestigious All India THAL Sainik camp held at New Delhi in the month of September 2015 and won the gold medal in shooting competition category.
7th Indian National Brain Bee Quiz competition : Master B Vishnu Vardhan of 12 A took part in 7th Indian National Brain Bee Quiz competition from undivided Andhra Pradesh state held at Mumbai on 19th April 2014 and stood as a runner up. He was awarded with a medal and certificate.
National Sports Meet :
Kum Vaishnavi of 11 B won the silver and cash prize of Rs. 2000/- in Girls TaekWonDo at KVS National Sports Meet held at Ahmedabad from 14-10-14 to 18-10-14.

Talsena Firing Camp at National Level: Cadet Vaishnavi of 11 B has performed a remarkable feat from Andhra Pradesh Directorate in Talsena Camp at New Delhi in the month of September 2014. She also got selected for Talsena Firing Camp at National Level.
Painting to the Children’s Magazine : Harsh Vaibhav of class 3 A has sent a painting to the Children’s Magazine and the same was published in the Art Galeery of the October 2014 issue of the Children’s Magazine. In appreciation, he received a cheque for Rs. 200/- from the Children’s Magazine.
Nature Trail: On 12-11-2014, sixteen NGC students participated in ‘Nature trail’ conducted by NGC in Kasu Brahmananda Reddy Park, situated in Banjara hills. They observed different kinds of birds in the park. They walked for 2-3 kilometres in the park and climbed the Watch tower and watched the surroundings. They witnessed the snake show conducted by Friends of Snakes Association. They watched the video on birds. Later they wrote their impressions on the Nature trail and drew drawings on nature and returned to the school. >>

Swaccha Bharat Mission:On 30-10-2014, students participated in ‘Swaccha Bharat Mission’ taken up by our Prime Minister Sri Narender Modi. They cleaned the surroundings, decorated the bulletin boards and classrooms with the articles, paper craft etc.
A Visit to Eco Friendly Houses: On 25-10-2014, NGC students visited Eco-friendly house situated in the Balaji Hills Colony, Uppal, Hyderabad. The house is built by Mrs. Aruna and Mr. Prashanth. They used the plastic and glass bottles filled with mud in the place of bricks. They used bamboo for false ceiling, windows, doors, curtains etc. This is keeping the house cool. They used the tiles made of plastic covers, biscuit wrappers etc. They used furniture made of rubber tyres and bamboo.
Eco-friendly Diwali :On 21-10-2014, Eco-friendly Diwali was celebrated in our K.V.No.1, Uppal with the help of NGC. NGC students propagated the message of not using the crackers which cause sound pollution and air pollution. Students were impressed a lot with this gesture.
Ozone layer preservation Day:On 16-9-2014, i.e. on ‘Ozone layer preservation Day’ a rally was organized for enlightening the people to minimize the use of electricity and air-conditioners to preserve the Ozone layer. This was also done with the help of NGC.
|Making Eco-friendly [Clay] Ganeshas:On 25-8-2014 a workshop on ‘Making Eco-friendly [Clay] Ganeshas’ and celebrating Eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi was conducted, with the help of National Green Corps, Telangana State. Students participated in the workshop with a great enthusiasm and also motivated the people to celebrate Eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi.|
National Sports Meet 2014-15 : KV 1 uppal bagged 9 Gold medals in Rope skipping competition out of 13 participants from Hyderabad region and also a gold medal in Hockey (Boys) at Hyderabad Region.

v SANSKRIT WEEK CELEBRATIONS (7th Aug-13thAug’2014):SANSKRIT SAPTAHA had been celebrated at KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA NO. 1 UPPAL from 7thAug’14 to13th Aug ’14 as per the directions of KVS head quarters as well as the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, Vide circular no. 11029/16/2014/KVS (HQ)/SANSKRIT WEEK dated 4thJuly 2014 on account of SHRAVANA PURNIMA and HAYAGRIVA JAYANTI.On 7th Aug’14 Sanskrit Saptaha had been grandly inaugurated at 8:45a.m during the morning assembly programme. After the invocation of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of the lamp by the honourable chief guest Dr.V.A. KUMARASWAMY, a renowned Sanskrit scholar and a retired principal of KVS, various cultural programmes had been conducted. The principal Smt. J. Ramadevi felicitated the Chief Guest with a shawl and a memento. The chief guest blessed the students and highlighted the importance of the devabhasha Sanskrit. The various programmes held in connection to the Sanskrit week celebrations were as follows:
o On 7th Aug “Bhagavadgeeta “shloka recitation competition was held.
o Each house was represented by three participants from juniors (classes VI, VII & VIII) and three from seniors(classes IX &X) i.e. a total of 24 participants, which was judged by Sri. Harsha Sri MLN Acharya Smt.GVL and Dr. CDR.
o On 11th Aug “Quiz competition” was held highlighting the importance of Sanskrit language and its literature. All the students participated enthusiastically.
o On 12th Aug “Group Song” competition in Sanskrit was held. This was followed by Essay writing competition for Senior and junior group students.
o Thus the Sanskrit week had been celebrated at K.V. NO.1 UPPAL with all vigour and vitality of our young and idealistic students and the help extended by the staff of the Vidyalaya.>>Photos
o Valedictory Function : On 13th August, 2014 valedictory function was held and all the 85 participants and 64 prize winners were awarded certificates and prizes by the chief Guest Dr. PTGV RANGACHARYULU, retired lecturer in Sanskrit. v Report on Youth Parliament Competition and Prizes: 55 students of K V No.1 Uppal participated in the 26th National Youth Parliament Competition held at KVS Hyderabad and stood first at the Regional Level and were Runners UP at the Zonal Level for the academic year 2013-14.Based on their performance , eight students were chosen at each level for awarding prizes .

v TAEKWONDO WINNERS : A total of 13 students of this Vidyalaya particpated and won gold medals in Inter school taekwondo championship -2014 organised by TAEKWONDO MARTIAL ARTS SPORTS CLUB affiliated to RR Dist Taekwondo association which was held on 23-02-2014 at Sri Durga Estates Welfare Association.
v STAR PLANETARIUM PAYS A VISIT TO THE STAR VIDYALAYA: A Planet show was orgnised by Star Planetarium,a mobile planetarium during the last week of January,2014 in the school premises for the students of Class- I to VII. It was a huge success as maximum number of students got a chance to have a glimpse of planets,stars and ever wonderful and mysterious space .
Kuchipudi Dance recital at Tyagarama Gang Sabha: On behalf of Pallavi Academy of Fine Art, C Vaishnavi Devi of class 9 A has performed a Kuchipudi Dance recital on 30-11-2013 at Tyagarama Gang Sabha and received amd received a memento conducted by Namaste Telangana.
English Elocution Competition : Kum Ch Sneha of 10 A participated in English Elocution Competition and bagged consolation prize which was conducted on 9-7-14 at IICT by IICT – CSIR.
Drawing and Painting competition : Samiksha Goel of 10 B participated and bagged first prize in Drawing and Painting competition conducted by CSIR, IICT on 9-7-2014 at IICT Hyderabad on the occasion of Awaken 2014 Environment and Health.
Zonal rifle shooting competition :Cadet D Akshara of 10 C bagged gold medal in the zonal rifle shooting competition in the month of May at Adilabad and she also got selected for National Rifle Shooting Competition to be held in the month of August 2014 at Asansol, West Bengal.
National TaeKwonDo Championship :P. Aditya of 9 A participated in National TaeKwonDo Championship and won Bronze medal which was held at Kuruksheth ra University, Haryana from 6-6-2014 to 8-6-2014.

Inter School Chess Tournament: R Vishal of 8 A participated in Inter School Chess Tournament on 2nd February 2014 and received 2nd prize which was conducted at Zee School, Hayathnagar.
‘Engineering Watch’ is a magazine which has conducted fellowship programme throughout Indian and selected 100 members out of 1,50,000 students. Out of them, Sai Thejeshwar stood in top 10 position and has been recognized as a scholar.
Apeejay Stya University is offering Rs. 1,70,000/- Scholarship for his higher studies.
The school has nominated 5 members and has been told to fill up the questionnaire in the online. And then went to Guldavelluru, Gudiwada, AP for Second Round of Screening Test. After seeing his performance in both the rounds and then selected for fellowship

National Level Neuroscience Quiz competition: Master B Vishnu Vardhan of 12 A stood runner up in National Level Neuroscience Quiz competition conducted by Indian National Brain Bee at Seven hills Hospital, Mumbai from 19-4-2014 to 20-4-2014.

v Computer Training for Lab Attenders and Sub Staff : K.V.NO. 1 Uppal , Hyderabad hosted a five day Computer Training Programme for the sub staff and Lab Attenders of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Hyderabad Region from 27th December to 31st December 2013. The programme was organised to initiate the sub staff and Lab attenders into the World of Technology. The programme got underway with the Inaugural Function in which Smt. D. Sudhamani, Assistant Commissioner,K.V.S. R.O. Hyderabad was the Chief Guest. A melodious welcome song was presented by the students of the Vidyalaya. Smt. D. Sudhamani then performed the traditional lighting of the lamp. Smt. J. Rama Devi then presented the welcome address in which she expressed her gratitude to the Chief Guest for gracing the function and also appraised vast experience and professional capacity of Smt. D.
