Nature Trail: On 12-11-2014, sixteen NGC students participated in ‘Nature trail’ conducted by NGC in Kasu Brahmananda Reddy Park, situated in Banjara hills. They observed different kinds of birds in the park. They walked for 2-3 kilometres in the park and climbed the Watch tower and watched the surroundings. They witnessed the snake show conducted by Friends of Snakes Association. They watched the video on birds. Later they wrote their impressions on the Nature trail and drew drawings on nature and returned to the school. >>Photos

      Unity Run : On 31-10-2014, students participated in Unity Run on the occasion of Sri              Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary

Swaccha Bharat Mission:On 30-10-2014, students participated in ‘Swaccha Bharat Mission’ taken up by our Prime Minister Sri Narender Modi. They cleaned the surroundings, decorated the bulletin boards and classrooms with the articles, paper craft etc. 


A Visit to Eco Friendly Houses: On 25-10-2014, NGC students visited Eco-friendly house situated in the Balaji Hills Colony, Uppal, Hyderabad. The house is built by Mrs. Aruna and Mr. Prashanth. They used the plastic and glass bottles filled with mud in the place of bricks. They used bamboo for false ceiling, windows, doors, curtains etc. This is keeping the house cool. They used the tiles made of plastic covers, biscuit wrappers etc. They used furniture made of rubber tyres and bamboo. 

Eco-friendly Diwali :On 21-10-2014, Eco-friendly Diwali was celebrated in our K.V.No.1, Uppal with the help of NGC. NGC students propagated the message of not using the crackers which cause sound pollution and air pollution. Students were impressed a lot with this gesture.

Ozone layer preservation Day:On 16-9-2014, i.e. on ‘Ozone layer preservation Day’ a rally was organized for enlightening the people to minimize the use of electricity and air-conditioners to preserve the Ozone layer. This was also done with the help of NGC.

Making Eco-friendly [Clay] Ganeshas:On 25-8-2014 a workshop on ‘Making Eco-friendly [Clay] Ganeshas’ and celebrating Eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi was conducted, with the help of National Green Corps, Telangana State. Students participated in the workshop with a great enthusiasm and also motivated the people to celebrate Eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi.

National Sports Meet 2014-15 : KV 1 uppal bagged 9 Gold medals in Rope skipping competition out of 13 participants from Hyderabad region  and  also a gold medal in Hockey  (Boys)  at Hyderabad Region.

v  SANSKRIT WEEK CELEBRATIONS (7th Aug-13thAug’2014):SANSKRIT SAPTAHA had been celebrated at KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA NO. 1 UPPAL from 7thAug’14 to13th Aug ’14 as per the directions of KVS head quarters as well as the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, Vide circular no.  11029/16/2014/KVS (HQ)/SANSKRIT WEEK dated 4thJuly 2014 on account of SHRAVANA PURNIMA and HAYAGRIVA JAYANTI.On 7th Aug’14 Sanskrit Saptaha had been grandly inaugurated at 8:45a.m during the morning assembly programme. After the invocation of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of the lamp by the honourable chief guest Dr.V.A. KUMARASWAMY, a renowned Sanskrit scholar and a retired principal of KVS, various cultural programmes had been conducted. The principal Smt. J. Ramadevi felicitated the Chief Guest with a shawl and a memento. The chief guest blessed the students and highlighted the importance of the devabhasha Sanskrit.  The various programmes held in connection to the Sanskrit week celebrations were as follows:

o    On 7th Aug Bhagavadgeeta “shloka recitation competition was held.

o    Each house was represented by three participants from juniors (classes VI, VII & VIII) and three from seniors(classes IX &X) i.e. a total of 24 participants, which was judged by Sri. Harsha         Sri MLN Acharya Smt.GVL and Dr. CDR.

o    On 11th Aug “Quiz competition” was held highlighting the importance of Sanskrit language and its literature. All the students participated enthusiastically.

o    On 12th Aug “Group Song” competition in Sanskrit was held. This was followed by Essay writing competition for Senior and junior group students.

o    Thus the Sanskrit week had been celebrated at K.V. NO.1 UPPAL with all vigour and vitality of our young and idealistic students and the help extended by the staff of the Vidyalaya.>>Photos

o    Valedictory Function : On 13th August, 2014 valedictory function was held and all the 85 participants and 64 prize winners were awarded certificates and prizes by the chief Guest Dr. PTGV RANGACHARYULU, retired lecturer in Sanskrit. v  Dwitiya Sopan testing camp:Dwitiya Sopan testing camp for Scouts and Guides, Chaturth Charan tests for Cubs and Heerakh pankh tests for Bulbuls were conducted in Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Uppal, Hyderabad on 19-7-2014, Saturday.     The ‘Camp Fire’ started at 4:30 p.m. The Chief Guest Mrs. Chitra Singh and the Principal, Mrs. J. v  Report on Youth Parliament Competition and Prizes: 55 students of K V No.1 Uppal participated in the 26th National Youth Parliament Competition held at KVS Hyderabad  and stood first at the Regional Level and were Runners UP at the Zonal Level for the academic year 2013-14.Based on their performance , eight students were chosen at  each level for awarding prizes .

v  The Zonal level prize winners  Miss.Mahathi, Kum.Anoushka, Kum.Sneha, Mas.Arpit, Mas.Surya Sagar ,Mas.Sumeeth, Miss.Vyashnavi and Miss Ravin along with the Principal K V No.1 Uppal Smt.J.Rama Devi and Mrs.T.Sheela Devi ,Social Studies teacher received the Prizes from the Union Minister for Forest & Environment and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri. Prakash Javadekar in a Grand Function held at Shri Bala Yogi Auditorium, Parliament House, New Delhi on 16.7.2014 .The minister while awarding the prizes expressed hope that theses student will become effective social workers, positive and committed political leaders in future .>> Photos


v  Principal's Visit to Germany:   Mrs.J.Ramadevi,Principal K V No.1 Uppal visited Germany as a member of KVS Delegation,sponsored by Goethe Institute ,Max Muller Bhavan ,New Delhi from 08th to 14th June 2014.The 19 member KVS delegation consisting of 2 Deputy Commissioners ,3 Assistant Commissioners and 14 Principals of different Kendriya Vidyalayas accross India visited Germany to know the Education System & Cultural Heritage of Germany to motivate the students of KVS for International understanding. >>Photos

v  Inservice course for PRTS : 12 Day In-Servi ce For PRTs has been inaugurated on 23.05.14 by the Chief Guest Maj. Gen. R.C. Padhi ,Additional Surveyor General, IISM, Survey of India, Hyderaba d and Guest of Honour Mr. A Rangasri A.C,KVS RO Hyderaba d Region .


v  TAEKWONDO WINNERS : A total of 13 students of this Vidyalaya particpated and won gold medals in Inter school taekwondo championship -2014   organised by TAEKWONDO MARTIAL ARTS SPORTS CLUB  affiliated to RR Dist Taekwondo association which was held on 23-02-2014 at Sri Durga Estates Welfare Association.


v  STAR PLANETARIUM PAYS A VISIT TO THE STAR VIDYALAYA: A  Planet show was orgnised by Star Planetarium,a mobile planetarium  during the last week of January,2014 in the school premises for the students  of Class- I to VII. It was a huge success as maximum number of students got a chance to have a glimpse of planets,stars and ever wonderful and mysterious space .

v  Computer Training for Lab Attenders and Sub Staff :      K.V.NO. 1  Uppal , Hyderabad hosted a five day Computer Training Programme for the sub staff and Lab Attenders of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Hyderabad Region from 27th December to 31st December 2013. The programme was organised to initiate the sub staff and Lab attenders   into the World of Technology. The programme got underway with the Inaugural Function in which Smt. D. Sudhamani, Assistant Commissioner,K.V.S. R.O. Hyderabad was the Chief Guest. A melodious welcome song was presented by the students of the Vidyalaya. Smt. D. Sudhamani then performed the traditional lighting of the lamp. Smt. J. Rama Devi then presented the welcome address in which she expressed her gratitude to the Chief Guest for gracing the function and also appraised vast experience and professional capacity of Smt. D.
